Xiaomi Bone Conduction Headphones Unveiled With Swim Mode And Built-in Storage

Xiaomi has introduced a new Bluetooth headphone model, the Bone Conduction 2, which stands out due to its bone conduction technology. Unlike traditional earbuds that are inserted into the ears, this model transmits sound through vibrations placed against the bones near the outer ear, offering a more open and less invasive listening experience.

One of the key features of the Bone Conduction 2 is its underwater mode, making it suitable for use in freshwater environments such as swimming pools. This is possible due to its IP68 certification, which ensures a high level of resistance to water and dust. In comparison, competing models such as the Sanag B60S offer only IPX8 protection, giving the Xiaomi model an advantage in terms of water resistance and safety for aquatic activities.

Another notable feature is the inclusion of internal memory, allowing users to store and play music without needing a phone nearby. This is especially useful during activities like swimming, running, or gym workouts where carrying a phone may be inconvenient.

In terms of battery life, the device includes a 165 mAh battery that supports up to 12 hours of continuous playback. It also features fast charging, offering about 2 hours of playback after just 10 minutes of charging. Supported audio codecs include SBC, apX, and aptX, which contribute to improved sound quality over Bluetooth.

The Xiaomi Bone Conduction 2 is being launched in China with a retail price of 699 yuan (approximately $96). However, the company has not yet confirmed if the product will be released in global markets.
